E-Book: Cross-border Health Care and EU law
Cross-border care is both a sensitive and controversial issue. It has to do with sustainability of national health care systems and with patients' rights to access health care services in different countries.
Directive 2011/24/EU has recognised the right of patients to move cross-border to access the health services they need. However, such a right is nowadays confronted with the need of national Governments to gurantee the sustainability of their own health care systems.
This e-book proposes an in-depth analysis of cross-border health care with different contributions. Among them, there is a chapter concerning health SPAs in Europe, written by the Secretary General of EAPTC, professor Alceste Santuari.
